Work on infrastructure, such as utilities, water and power, is underway on Pointe 183—a new medical and professional development in Leander—which broke ground in May.

The big picture

Pointe 183 is situated on 22 acres of land on the frontage of 183A Toll, adjacent to St. David's Emergency Center. Cadre Construction along with other companies are spearheading the development.

Out of the 22 acres, seven will be developed initially as Phase 1, which will include medical and office buildings as well as an animal hospital, Cadre Construction President Ron Evans said.

The remaining 15 acres are planned for restaurants, retail and a three-story office building. Evans said the company is looking into entertainment venues, hotels, specialty medical providers, and additional retail and restaurants for that space.

Because Pointe 183 shares a property line with St. David’s and will have a driveway connected to the hospital, Evans said the development will attract a lot of doctors and create medical-related jobs. Medical services in the first phase will include orthopedics, family practice, pediatrics and dental.

Phase 1 is planned to reach completion in late summer 2024. Evans said the whole project is expected to be built out over the next five years.
