Angela and Max Simpson, the founders of Little Leaps Play Café, are building a space in Leander for families and children ages six months to six years. The family-owned business is set to open in late 2025.

The backstory

Angela Simpson had the idea for the business two years ago, after having her son, and realizing how difficult parenting can be without a close support system.

“That’s why we created Little Leaps: a space where families can come together, kids can play and grow, and parents can connect and build friendships,” Angela Simpson said in an email to Community Impact. “Our hope is that no one ever feels like they have to do this alone, that when you walk into Little Leaps, you feel supported, welcomed and part of a community.”

More details

The cafe will offer imaginative play areas, child-parent classes, storytimes and a café space for parents, according to the company's website. Additionally, the space will offer pre-packaged snacks, pastries, smoothies, espresso, coffee and other canned and bottled drinks, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing.

Get involved

Ahead of its opening, the business is seeking teachers, artists and small businesses to collaborate with. The café will include a retail selection and weekly activities and classes including music and yoga, according to an Instagram post.

Construction on the 2,211 square foot space began on Aug. 15 and is set to conclude early November.
