Leander ISD back to school Monday; district monitoring hurricane

Students throughout Leander ISD will hit the books again Monday for the 2017-18 school year, and district officials say they are monitoring Hurricane Harvey as it moves in from the Gulf of Mexico.

All LISD schools are expected to start as planned Aug. 28, according to a post on the district’s website. As of Friday morning, the district has adjusted three athletic events, including:

  • canceling a Vandegrift High School tennis tournament at North East ISD;

  • canceling a Rouse High School cross-country race at The Woodlands; and

  • rescheduling a Leander High School football scrimmages in Belton.

The district will inform parents of any changes through the district’s website at www.leanderisd.org, email, social media and/or an automated phone call.
