The National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center on Thursday released its three-month climate outlook for the spring.

Based on the weather service’s outlook, there is an enhanced chance for above-average rainfall for the western areas of the Gulf Coast, including along the southeastern parts of Texas.

Houston has a 40 percent chance of experiencing above-average rainfall, the outlook shows. Austin and San Antonio are located on the outer edge of the area and have a 33 percent chance of experiencing above-average rainfall over the next three months, according to the weather service.

On the Lower Colorado River Authority's weather blog, LCRA Meteorologist Bob Rose said the outlook for areas to the west of the I-35 corridor, including the Texas Hill Country, show equal chances for above, below and normal rainfall for the spring.
