From fitness centers to liquor stores and dental offices, here are 17 businesses that recently opened in Lake Travis-Westlake.

Beverage

1. Awesome Liquors is now open at the Lakeway Town Center at 2418 S. RM 620, Lakeway.

The new liquor store, which opened mid-March, is located near the end of the shopping center near Embellish My Home furniture store. The liquor store will offer beer and wine as well as other liquors and spirits; the business is owned by Noor Jehan.

2. Westwoods Liquor opened in February at 2303 S. RM 620, Ste. 110, Lakeway. Westwoods Liquor, which has another location in Westlake, is a family-owned business that sells beer, wine and other spirits. The store also offers various tasting events throughout the year. 512-505-8585.


Dental and wellness

3. Ellie Mental Health opened a new practice in Bee Cave at the beginning of October at 11719 Bee Caves Road, Austin. The practice offers therapy to clients of all ages and has a diverse team of therapists with a variety of certifications and qualifications. Services include individual counseling, couples therapy, family therapy, grief and trauma therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy, and online therapy. 4. Gallagher Orthodontics opened its brick-and-mortar location at 4900 Bee Creek Road, Ste. 201, Spicewood, in mid-November.

The practice is owned and operated by Dr. Robert Gallagher and his wife, Dana Gallagher.


The orthodontics studio offers a complimentary initial exam, braces and clear aligners, emergency services, 3D scanning and printing, services for adults and teens, and services for children as young as 7.

5. Oris Dental Studio opened Nov. 7 at 18101 Hwy. 71, Ste. 100, Austin. The studio is owned by Dr. Evan Pedersen and offers general, cosmetic, family and emergency dentistry, along with orthodontics, restoration, same-day and sedation dentistry, and services for special needs patients. 512-768-8564.

6. Sunmed CBD, a wellness store that specializes in cannabidiol, an ingredient derived from the hemp plant, opened in Lakeway at 2300 Lohmans Spur Road, Ste. 116, on Sept. 15 with a grand opening Dec. 3.


Sunmed CBD sells cannabidiol in a number of different forms, including vegan gummies, broad spectrum bath bombs, topical creams and sprays, water solubles, and pet treats.

7. BodyBar Pilates opened at the beginning of February at 12101 Bee Cave Road, Ste. 5A, Bee Cave. BodyBar Pilates Bee Cave is the first BodyBar Pilates studio to open in Austin and is owned by Katy Kenney.


The reformer concept studio infuses core Pilates principles with modern exercise training through 40- to 50-minute classes to provide high-intensity, low-impact exercise instruction; there are also a variety of classes catering to all skill levels. 512-508-8530.

8. Boutique indoor cycling studio CycleBar opened in Bee Cave at the end of January at 3620 S. RM 620, Ste. 210, Austin. The studio is owned by Rhonda Salerno and offers a variety of classes, from high-intensity challenges to “sanctuary” rides for cyclists to unplug. The practice is open to individuals of all skill levels and has two other locations in Austin: one in Cedar Park and one in Central Austin. 512-850-5999.

9. Indoor cycling studio Cyced opened Jan. 1 at 15500 Hwy. 71, Ste. 140, Bee Cave. Owners Sara and Ali Golshani are dentists who own a practice called Serene Hills Dentistry in Lakeway and decided to open an indoor cycling studio during the pandemic, Sara Golshani said.

Sara Golshani was previously a cycling instructor and said she has been passionate about the industry for years. The studio is an immersive rhythmic indoor cycling studio with dramatic interiors and theatrical lighting. 512-348-9635.


10. RVE Fitness, a new gym in the Westlake area, had a soft opening Feb. 6 at 3801 N. Capital of Texas Hwy., Ste. I-100, Austin.

The fitness center currently has a gym, sauna, pool, jacuzzi, cardio and strength equipment, and a spin room for clients, gym Manager Marisel Martorell said. Martorell's husband, Carlos Martorell, owns RVE Fitness, along with their partners, Esteban Sandoval and Adam Mata.

As they complete construction on the gym, they are also hoping to add an area for aerobics classes, kickboxing, martial arts, yoga and pilates, she said. 512-596-5535.

Kids

11. Children’s indoor play area Pikopye’s Town opened in mid-December at 1607 N. RM 620, Lakeway.

The center, Pikopye’s Town by the Lake, features a themed play area with eight custom playhouses resembling small lake town businesses as well as a tree house with a tunnel slide. The business offers a toddler and baby area with a woodlands theme for sensory play; an outdoor setting with picnic tables, big blocks and toys is also coming to the play area soon.

Additionally, an area is set up for adults to relax while their children play; nitro cold brew coffee and Wi-Fi are provided for the adults’ convenience.

12. Storefront Covert Buick GMC opened at 16501 Sweetwater Village Drive, Austin, at the beginning of February. The new dealership also includes Covert Cadillac, which opened in the fall, and Covert Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, which is slated to open in March. 13. Club Car Wash opened at 15949 Hwy. 71, Bee Cave, in February. The new business offers different car wash packages with single washes and monthly subscriptions available, including an unlimited wash plan. Free towels and vacuums are offered after every wash. 14. Finery and Cake opened its baking operations Feb. 8 at 1310 S. RM 620, Ste. A01, Lakeway. The shop has a bakery menu that includes party desserts, wedding cakes and custom cookies. While the majority of its business is from its bakery, it also offers gifts, home decor and design consultations on its retail side, co-owner Julie Kuney said. 15. Interior design company Axent Design opened a new warehouse location in Spicewood in January. Owner Georgia Manhire uses a residence at 4400 Sharpshinned Hawk Cove, Austin, for her business address. In addition to interior design, Axent Design also focuses on home staging services and landscape design. The beauty salon is owned by Rolando Osorio and offers haircuts for men, women and children; coloring and keratin hair treatments; perms; lash extensions and full-face waxing; updos and hairstyling; and makeup.
