The clinic brought on licensed clinical social worker Kathryn “Katy” Seela. This marks the first time the clinic has offered on-site behavioral health services, the release states. Seela will provide therapy services for patients age 5 and older.
“We are thrilled to expand behavioral health services within the Georgetown ISD Health and Wellness Center,” Dorothea Pitikas, LSCC director of behavioral health therapy operations, said in the release. “Emotional wellbeing is a vital part of wholeperson care, and bringing therapy directly into the district ensures students, staff, and their families can access support when they need it most.”
The addition of on-site behavioral health therapy allows the center to support patients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress and behavioral or emotional challenges, per the release.
“Behavioral health services play an essential role in supporting students’ academic success and overall wellbeing,” Mindy Petty, GISD director of health services, said in the release. “We are grateful for this expansion, which makes mental health support more accessible for our entire GISD community.”
