Alice Poulain Café now serving French cuisine on South First Street

Lunch and dinner bites include omelettes, salads, sandwiches and charcuterie spreads. Patrons can order a salade niçoise made with tuna, eggs, green beans, potatoes, olives and vegetables with a vinaigrette.

Wine offerings feature both French and American pours by the glass or bottle.

The backstory

Buscicchio, co-founder of Alice Poulain Café, was inspired by his grandmother, Alice, to find a passion for food. The cafe’s foundation was fueled by Alice’s recipe book; every cake, pastry and quiche is crafted with Alice’s knowledge and Buscicchio’s technique as a trained pastry chef.

The cafe is designed to be a "third space," according to the news release, welcoming everyone, including dogs and remote workers, to find their home away from home.

“In France, the café is where your day begins and where it slows down,” Buscicchio said in a news release. “We wanted to bring that experience to Austin and what surprised us is how naturally it belongs.”
