Officials with a pumpkin patch in Bastrop announced its closing on social media Aug. 2.

Located at 1115 FM 969, Bastrop, Barton Hill Farms first opened in 2012. Since then, families have flocked just southeast of Austin to kick off the fall season.

"We would like to thank the entire community and the families that visited our farm venue throughout the years," officials posted online. "Since 2012, it has been a delightful experience serving you all."

Starting in October and running through early November, the farm offered more than just a pumpkin patch. It also offered people the chance to pick flowers, get lost in a giant corn maze, hear live music, play games and more each weekend.

"We have made lifetime friendships with so many and wish you all the very best for your future endeavors," officials said.
