A store selling clothes and accessories made by Austin and Egyptian fashion designers opened downtown Dec. 5.

The ATX+Egypt Fashion Pop-Up is a project from the U.S. Embassy Cairo, city of Austin Economic Development Department, the ACC Fashion Incubator, Fashion By Texas, Macy’s and Egyptian online retailer La Reina.

The store, located at 225 W. Second St., sells goods such as clothing, jewelry, bags and leather products by designers in the ATX+Egypt Entrepreneurship Program.

“This pop-up store is a great opportunity to support Austin fashion designers during the holiday season,” said Sylnovia Holt-Rabb, acting director for the Austin Economic Development Department, in a press release. “The store also provides fashion designers from Cairo with an opportunity to access the U.S. market.”

A pop-up store in Egypt will sell items from Austin fashion designers in February.

The store will be open Dec. 5-20, Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sundays noon-5 p.m.
