Highlights of Phase 2 include expanded trails, an elevated walkway through the tree canopy, a new parking lot on the south side of the park, additional restrooms near the soccer fields and south parking lot, a disc golf course, and expanded recreational and educational amenities.

The design process is set to be completed by spring 2027 and construction to begin in summer 2027, senior project manager Caleb Stockton said. The city aims to open the Phase 2 improvements in fall 2028, Stockton said.

Cedar Park officials have updated the timeline and budget for the planned pedestrian bridge over Bell Boulevard that will connect Lakeline Park to the Brushy Creek Regional Trail and the Twin Lakes Family YMCA campus, according to city staff and paperwork filed with the state.

A May 18 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation included a new estimated completion date of Feb. 1, 2028. The city had previously planned to complete construction of the bridge by the end of 2027.

Additionally, the filing lists the expected construction cost at $9.7 million. However, City Communications Director Fran Irwin told Community Impact that the total budget for the pedestrian bridge and trail connection is now anticipated at a total of $13.4 million.

The county broke ground May 28 on improvements to Southwest Williamson County Regional Park at the three-corner line of Cedar Park, Leander and Round Rock. Upgrades include artificial turf upgrades for four fields through a sponsorship with Lonestar Soccer Club.

The county will replace four fields with FIFA-certified synthetic turf to help reduce impacts from drought and wear and allow for longer playing time, according to previous Community Impact reporting. Using artificial turf will also eliminate the maintenance costs of natural grass.

Lonestar Soccer Club will invest $6.5 million to fund the field upgrades and future maintenance. The county will spend $300,000 in voter-approved bond money to fund the replacement of the eight-lane running track around Field 6, according to a county news release.

Work is complete on Ridgeline Neighborhood Park, a new park located right on the Austin-Cedar Park line near Lakeline Mall, a spokesperson for Austin Parks and Recreation said.

The park is now open to the public, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held June 3 by Austin Parks and Recreation.

The park covers an area of just over 10 acres and preserves natural features including forested areas, a wetland ecosystem and two small streams, according to a news release.

The development of the park added amenities, including a looped trail, picnic areas, a water fountain, and native grass and wildflowers.

5. Detour in place at Brushy Creek North Fork Trail

Cedar Park residents can expect temporary route changes on the Brushy Creek North Fork Trail as part of the Toro Grande Roadway improvements project.

A detour will be in place at the Brushy Creek bridge through the end of the year, according to a March 24 news release.

The city advises residents to keep an eye out for ongoing construction and to abide by posted signage near the work zone.

The Toro Grande project will include the construction of a new four-lane route linking New Hope Drive and Parmer Lane. The project is managed by both Cedar Park and Williamson County.
