Here are several things to do this Memorial Day weekend in the Austin area.

1. The city of Hutto is hosting a Memorial Day weekend block party that will include children's activities, food trucks, live music and craft vendors. A remembrance ceremony in honor of Memorial Day will take place. Picnics, chairs, blankets and coolers are welcome, but glass is prohibited. 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Free (admission). Fritz Park, 306 E. 2. Chisos Boot Company will host a crawfish boil to benefit the Texas Military Forces Museum at Camp Mabry. The event will feature a 22-foot-tall, 50-foot-long inflatable slip 'n slide; hundreds of pounds of crawfish; live music; and dancing. Crawfish can be purchased for a cash donation. 3. The annual Heroes Appreciation BBQ will include food, live music, face painting, hay rides, a zip line, swimming and inflatables for active military members and veterans as well as their families. 4. Nonprofit organization Heroes Night Out will host its 10th annual Heroes Appreciation BBQ in honor of military members and veterans. The is the largest free military and veteran barbecue event in Texas, according to the Heroes Night Out website. Family-friendly activities will be offered. 5. Iron Wolf Ranch & Distillery will celebrate Memorial Day weekend with live music, a bounce house, a waterslide, a Sip & Shop outdoor market, water guns, yard games and more. The event is open to all ages. 7. The Sun City Texas Community Association's annual Memorial Day Ceremony will honor the men and women who died serving their country. Retired Marine Corps General Robert B. 8. In partnership with the city, the Round Rock Veteran’s Coalition will host a community event honoring and remembering fallen service members at the newly renovated Yonders Point Plaza in Old Settlers Park. The Williamson County Quartet will provide a performance, and sidewalks will be lined by members of the Stony Point High School JROTC. 10 a.m.-noon. Free. 9. 12 Fox Beer Co. will host a cornhole and washers tournament to raise money for the SEALS Healing Our Protectors, a nonprofit veteran’s group providing resources, research and advocacy for former service members.
