The 2020 Old Town Street Festival in Leander has been canceled.

The annual festival will continue with its Old Town 5K race on Aug. 29 with COVID-19 precautions, according to a July 21 announcement from Leander Chamber of Commerce President Bridget Brandt. Race proceeds will benefit the Leander Strong campaign to aid local small businesses. Race information is on the festival website.

"We would have loved to put on another memorable event this year, however, with the uncertainty surrounding the current situation in Texas, this decision is the only responsible solution," Brandt wrote. "The health and safety of our fans, artists, partners, staff and the entire Leander community remains our highest priority."

The next festival is scheduled for June 5, 2021.
