The festivities will begin with a free march, beginning at the Cedar Park Recreation Center at 10 a.m. A celebration inside the recreation center will follow, with performances from dancers, musicians and spoken word artists from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“I think in a lot of ways, it’s more important than ever to remember Dr. King’s legacy," Cedar Park Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin said at a Jan. 8 City Council meeting.
“We have a pretty close community between Leander and Cedar Park, and so many people are overlapping and coming to these events,” Leander City Council member Na’Cole Thompson said at a Dec. 18 meeting. “We wanted to figure out some way that we could partner together, and so I’m happy to see that."
