The Good Lot has provided Cedar Park residents with a variety of drinking and dining experience over the last two years.

Owners Alex and Neil Ehrlich opened the family-friendly beer garden in 2021 after struggling to find a community space that worked for both them and their two young sons, Alex said.

“We wanted to create something that was friendly to both parties where adults can hang out, kids can hang out and just comingle,” she said.

At The Good Lot, adults can grab a beer; children can enjoy an Izzy or draft root beer; and everyone can dine at The Good Lot’s four featured food trucks.

In addition to a variety of food and beer options, The Good Lot is pet friendly, offering water bowls and treats. The space includes a pavilion and a large lawn with outdoor seating, water misters and a playground.

The beer garden has 24 draft beers on tap from mostly local breweries, such as Meanwhile Brewing in Austin and Red Horn Coffee House Brewing Co. in Cedar Park, Alex said. Each month, The Good Lot hosts a pint night featuring drafts from a guest brewery.

“Everybody is just so friendly and wants to have fun and do what they can to just have somebody else enjoy a good pint,” she said about the beer community.

The four food trucks feature a variety of menu options. Four Brothers Venezuelan Kitchen serves traditional Venezuelan food, such as arepas and empanadas. Fez, a Mediterranean food truck, offers lamb and chicken skewer plates, wraps and falafels.

Korean food truck The Rice is Right is known for its beef bulgogi and Korean fried chicken. The Good Lot’s most recent food truck addition, Lazy G BBQ Co., opened at the space June 14, serving barbecue sandwiches and plates.

On June 24, The Good Lot celebrated its second anniversary with an all-day birthday party featuring live music, specialty beers, activities for kids and guest food trucks.

Ehrlich said the annual party has been a meaningful way to show appreciation for the community supporting The Good Lot.

“We jumped in not knowing what to expect, and the community, they showed up,” Alex said. “They have just turned this into one of Cedar Park’s hangout spots.”
