Meet Megan Jaster · Austin Artist of the Month

Austin painter Megan Jaster is November's Austin Artist of the Month at Unchained.Art Contemporary Gallery, and she is in the gallery November 1, 12 to 4PM, to introduce her new body of work in person. Jaster's immersive oil paintings move between the subconscious and the natural world. Her process starts with her own photography, live models, and research, then moves through digital collage studies that include AI-generated filters, with the final painting left open to intuition. Old Master technique meets a thoroughly contemporary process. Jaster has worked across Austin, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Los Angeles, and her studio is now in the same building as the gallery. Her new work hangs on the dedicated wall through November 30.
