Bastrop’s beverage scene is seeing a surge in health-focused drinks, as local entrepreneurs tap into a growing demand for nutritious options.

Radiant Juice + Smoothie Bar as well as Sunny Hill Juice and Provisions are among the businesses at the heart of this trend.

Radiant Juice + Smoothie Bar

Char Rebell and Stephanie Berry have nearly 50 years of experience in the natural health industry, and they are transforming Radiant Juice + Smoothie Bar into a wellness cafe after purchasing the business from DeLacey Martin in early September.

“My whole goal is to not sell anything that I wouldn’t feed my children,” Rebell told Community Impact. “Nutrition is one of the biggest steps that people can actually take to start on a healthy path, and I’m here to assist people in how that works for them.”

Residents can visit Radiant Juice + Smoothie Bar from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays.

“Our smoothies are 100% fruit,” Rebell said. “We don’t put any ice in them. We don’t dilute them. We make sure that when you get a smoothie, you’re paying for a smoothie that’s healing and helping you be a healthier person.”

Sunny Hill Juice and Provisions

Dominique Barnett, who owns Sunny Hill Juice and Provisions, also has joined the growing beverage scene in Bastrop.

She has served cold-pressed juices, hydrogen water, locally sourced provisions and drip coffee since early September.

“I worked at a little juice bar for a while,” Barnett told Community Impact. “I just loved the benefits of juicing, so I started doing it myself for myself and my family. Then it kind of became a ‘What if?’ dream.”

Residents can visit Sunny Hill Juice and Provisions from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

“I love being in the community,” Barnett said. “I grew up here, and a lot of people that have watched me grow up—like friends I went to high school with—have shown up. The support I have already gotten is crazy, so this has been a very fun journey.”
