Greek culinary enthusiasts can soon satisfy their cravings when Coffee Greeks opens in downtown Bastrop in the fall.

The gist

Originally set to open in May, owner Rebecca Syrpis said the Greek coffee and dessert shop is on track to open in early fall inside her local boutique, Silver Creek Collections, which expanded into the spot in April.

Some context

Replacing the current coffee kiosk next door inside Merc on Main at 1020 Main St., Bastrop, Coffee Greeks will offer a variety of authentic Greek drinks and desserts.

Syrpis said she created Coffee Greeks to give residents authentic Greek food and drink options.

"We will have some seating, but my goal is to give guests the option to grab a dessert and drink while they shop at Silver Creek Collections," Syrpis said.

What they offer

Coffee Greeks will provide a curated selection of beverages and desserts, including:

  • Espressos
  • Cold brews and drinks
  • Chai and matcha lattes
  • Baklava
  • Bougatsa
  • Galaktoboureko

What else?

In the future, Syrpis said she will add authentic Greek dishes to her selections, such as moussaka, pastichio, spanakopita, tiropita and others.

"We'll also introduce some surprises that will give you a true taste of Greece," Syrpis said. "As a Greek, family-owned business, we're committed to bringing a piece of Greece to Bastrop."
