Bastrop Prayer and Healing Rooms marked the official opening of its new space in Bastrop during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in mid-January.

The nonprofit organization—which offers prayer and healing rooms, food boxes for those in need, and morning and evening services each month—was developed around focused and personalized prayer and healing, offers

The prayer and healing rooms are now open from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, and from 10 a.m. to noon on the third Thursday of each month outside of Celebration Community Church, according to Bastrop Prayer and Healing Rooms.

“We envision a thriving spiritual hub where healing, restoration and transformation flow through every aspect of life—spirit, soul and body,” Bastrop Prayer and Healing Rooms said in a statement. “Our mission is to unite believers, churches and ministries under a common goal—to bring wholeness, deliverance and revival to individuals, families and communities.”


Some area residents have made note of that impact at its previous location at 1375 Hwy. 71 W. in Cedar Creek.

“Forever grateful I found the Bastrop Prayer and Healing Rooms when I needed it the most,” Jamila Shams, a Smithville resident, said in a Facebook post.

Some context

Bastrop Prayer and Healing Rooms, which features six prayer team leads, is a member of the International Association of Healing Rooms—a ministry network that Cal Pierce, the director of IAHR, began in 1999.
