Michael Muniz has turned a practical idea into a new business with Zenith Trek—an outdoor camping supply brand aimed at keeping campers warm and comfortable.

The details

Muniz called the Comfy Feet Sleeping Bag, which was designed and developed in Bastrop, Zenith Trek’s flagship product.

He touted several of the Comfy Feet Sleeping Bag’s features, including:
  • Ripstop fabric that’s water- and wind-resistant
  • Double-filled hollow-core insulation
  • Expanded footbox
  • Integrated hood
“This is my new adventure—my invention—born from frustration, humor and a love for the outdoors,” Muniz, who also owns Affordable Handyman of Austin, said in a statement posted to Zenith Trek’s website. “I built what I couldn’t find—a sleeping bag that actually lets your feet relax, stay warm and be free to wiggle your toes. It's like a tent for your feet.”

What else?

Zenith Trek sells a variety of other products, including:
  • Survival bracelets
  • A memory foam pillow
  • An ultralight inflatable sleeping pad
  • A camp shower bag
  • Sherpa-lined windproof flannels
  • Compact adventure cutters
  • A 200-piece first aid kit
  • A solar power bank
Notable quote

“While the business operates online, Bastrop is home for us, and this represents a locally founded, family-owned venture growing beyond the area,” Muniz told Community Impact in an email.
