Bastrop EDC Operations Manager Angela Ryan said their offices will take over the former Bastrop Utility Services Department space.
During a regular Bastrop City Council meeting on Aug. 27, City Manager Sylvia Carrillo said the utilities department will move on Sept. 23 to Spring Street, between the Bastrop Public Library and the United States Post Office.
What they offer
Bastrop EDC facilitates economic growth within the county by recruiting industries to the area.
According to the website, the corporation targets:
- Biotechnology and life sciences, such as health care, medical and veterinary research, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices
- Manufacturing, such as home goods, electronics, packaging, fulfillment and distribution operations
- Information and computer technology, including engineering, communications and advanced electronic design, and IT companies
- Hospitality and retail, like resorts, business-class hotels, national chain retailers and restaurants, boutiques, and dining and drinking establishments
- Relocates in December
