Democrat Celia Israel will continue to represent Texas House District 50 after collecting 43,431 votes, or 63.65 percent. Republican challenger Ceasar Ruiz had 24,800 votes, or 36.34 percent.

District 50 encompasses parts of North Austin, Pflugerville, Manor, Elgin and Webberville in Travis County.

Incumbent Celia Israel has strong lead early for House District 50 seat

Democrat incumbent Celia Israel has nearly two-thirds of the early returns for Texas House District 50. Israel has 33,410 votes, or 65.56 percent, compared to Republican challenger Ceasar Ruiz with 17,548 votes, or 34.43 percent.

Totals are based on early voting totals and partial reporting of Election Day votes.
