According to unofficial results, Democrat incumbent Lloyd Doggett appears on his way to winning the race for U.S. House District 35 with 460,027 votes, or 62.48 percent of the total and 377 of 377 precincts reporting. Doggett defeated Republican challenger Susan Narvaiz, who received 31,985 votes, or 33.29 percent of the total. Libertarian candidate Cory Bruner received 2,760 votes or 2.87 percent of the total. Green Party candidate Kat Swift also received 1,293 votes, or 1.34 percent of the total. In a prepared statement, Doggett said he was appreciative of the support he received throughout his campaign and he looked forward to representing his constituents. "With a Congress that leans even harder to the far right, I am grateful to stand up for our values in Washington," Doggett said. All results are unofficial until canvassed.

According to early voting results, Democrat incumbent Lloyd Doggett is leading the race for the U.S. House of Representatives District 35 seat with 29,474 votes, or 65.15 percent. Republican challenger Susan Narvaiz has received 14,229 votes, or 31.45 percent. Libertarian Cory Bruner has received 956 votes, or 2.11 percent, and Green Party candidate Kat Swift has received 581 votes, or 1.28 percent. Doggett has said he wants to focus on improving opportunity through tuition reimbursement, what he called "equal pay for equal work" and other programs. Narvaiz, a former mayor of San Marcos, said she believes Central Texas is under-represented in Washington. If elected, Narvaiz said she will work to ease regulations that she believes have "stymied" the oil and gas industry in Texas. If re-elected, Doggett will serve a two-year term.
