Allen ISD board reviews academic performance report for 2024-25 school year

Wilhelm’s presentation included an overview of the 2024-25 Texas Academic Performance Report that measures student performance on state standardized tests. State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness tests are issued in core subjects such as reading and language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.

In the 2024-25 school year, a higher percentage of Allen ISD students met state standards compared to the rest of Region 10 and the state, according to Wilhelm’s presentation. The data included all students taking STAAR exams at Allen ISD.

“We are performing well above the state and region performance levels, outpacing performance at the state and region by 20 percentage points or more," Wilhelm said.

Allen ISD also outpaced the region and state in percentage of students approaching grade level, which is considered passing, and mastering grade level, according to the presentation.

Also of note

Wilhelm’s presentation also included a demographic breakdown of Allen ISD students and several indicators related to college and career readiness, performance in advanced placement classes, attendance and completion rates.
