A new dining and entertainment venue is set to debut at The Farm in Allen in early 2027.
The concept will fill a space previously occupied by The Hub, which closed July 20, said Bruce Heller, president of Allen-based JaRyCo Development and developer of The Farm in Allen.
The specifics
The site’s new owner has not yet been announced, but is a “nationally recognized food and entertainment venue operator with similar facilities around the country,” according to a July 23 news release from JaRyCo Development. The new operator is expected to renovate the existing facility as well as add new dining and entertainment options.
"We met this morning with the financial group that now owns the former Hub property and reviewed their plans," Heller said in the release. "We were extremely impressed with what they are creating. While we are not able to share details until the plans are finalized, we are confident this will become an exciting new destination at The Farm when it opens in early 2027."
The new ownership comes following the closure of The Hub earlier this week, confirmed by The Hub founder and CEO Brad Zeitlin. The venue, which opened in 2022, welcomed more than half a million visitors during its roughly four years of operation, he said.
“The exciting new ownership group brings deep expertise and capabilities to the property,” Zeitlin said in a LinkedIn post. “The Hub team expressed deep admiration for the new ownership group.”
The context
Construction on The Farm in Allen began in March 2021 with an anticipated 15-year build-out process that will add restaurants, retail, office space, recreation uses, residential units, green space, trails and more, the release states.
The 135-acre mixed-use project is being developed by JaRyCo Development in partnership with the Johnson family, longtime owners of the former family farmland site. The development is on track to reach completion sooner than the projected 15-year timeline, according to the release.
“With everything currently underway, we have only about 40 acres remaining to develop out of our original 135 acres,” Heller said.

A number of other developments are underway at The Farm in Allen. Check out these updates on other projects at the site.
- Alta Preserve: Construction is underway on the 311-unit multifamily project, which is expected to welcome about residents in July 2027. The project is the third phase of residential development for Atlanta-based multifamily development and construction firm Wood Partners at the Farm in Allen, joining Alta at The Farm and Alta Magnolia.
- FarmWorks One: The speculative office building has five tenants operating in the building. Build-out work for two other tenants is underway, and additional leases for the building are pending, with Heller expected the building to be about 85% by the end of the year.
- High 5 Entertainment: The family friendly entertainment venue is expected to break ground in the next eight weeks, per the release. The business will offer a miniature golf course, bowling, axe throwing, dining options, an adults-only upper level and more.
- Home2 Suites by Hilton: Construction on the 124-suite hotel is set to begin in October.
Design work is underway for other uses that will join The Farm in Allen, including a new flex office development that will begin construction in early 2027. A retail center and boardwalk restaurant district is also planned for the mixed-use development, according to the release. The project is under design, and a retail development partner is expected to purchase the land and begin construction by early 2027.
The Farm in Allen is also home to Chicken N Pickle, which opened May 2025, as well as Watters Edge at The Farm, a 112-townhome development that has been completed and all homes sold, Heller said.
"As you can see, we continue to ‘grow’ things at The Farm," Heller said.
