Galveston County Commissioner Ken Clark issued the following statement on the bond election results.
"We are excited to see that the voters approved the bond issues," Clark said. "It will allow Galveston County to move forward. We will not only be able to increase mobility but also [improve] drainage that will allow us to keep people safer."

With all precincts reporting, unofficial election results are in for the Galveston County bond election measures on the ballot for Nov. 7.
The final vote was 63 percent in favor for Proposition A with 37 percent opposed and 10,519 total votes cast; 51 percent in favor for Proposition B with 49 percent opposed and 10,433 total votes cast; and 70 percent in favor for Proposition C with 30 percent opposed and 10,504 total votes cast, according to unofficial election results.
The Galveston County bond election was comprised of three propositions:
Proposition A would issue $56 million in bonds for the construction, maintenance and operations of country roads, according to the county. This includes $3.75 million to the city of Friendswood, which will be spent on Phase 1 of Friendswood Lakes Boulevard.
Proposition B would issue $18 million in bonds for county facility projects. This includes improvements to the North County Annex, the Road and Bridge Facility and Bacliff Annex/ Community Center, as well as the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Proposition C would issue $6 million in bonds for flood control. The bond will focus on Highland Bayou slope stability and Jay Road ditch, as well as regional detention in Dickinson Bayou and Drainage District 1 Cloud Bayou.
All results are unofficial until canvassed.
