Dan Stricklin Dan Stricklin is running for Frisco City Council, Place 1.[/caption] Frisco resident Dan Stricklin has filed for Frisco City Council, Place 1. The seat is an unexpired term that will be up for election again in 2018. Stricklin said he has lived in the North Texas area for more than a decade and loves the city of Frisco. "I want to do my part to continue to help Frisco grow," he said. Stricklin has spent his career in the electronic integration industry handling local, county, state and federal government contracts. He currently works for 911 Security, an innovative electronic integration company that helps entities through security systems, solutions and data gathering. "What I'm going to be able to do for the citizens of Frisco is be somebody on the City Council that knows how to administrate and knows how to look at opportunities as they come in and say, 'This is going to be a phenomenal deal for Frisco,' and help them choose the great from the better," he said. If elected to Council, Stricklin said he would like to focus on implementing smart technology in the city and having more fiscal responsibility. "Implementing technology would help not only reduce costs but would move our city into the future," he said. Stricklin said he wants Frisco to be a "melting pot of opportunities." "If you're a business owner in the city of Frisco, I'm here to support you, I'm here to support businesses," he said. "I really want us to continue to attract more technology companies, and I would like us to become a start-up incubator and a technology incubator." Filing for Place 1 goes through Dec. 19. The election for Place 1 takes place Feb. 18. Former council member John Keating and business owner Hal Thomas have also filed for the Place 1 seat.
