Police Chief Jessica Robledo, who was sworn in Feb. 14, told Pflugerville City Council members at Tuesday’s meeting the Pflugerville Police Department has a new mission statement, vision statement, new shields for officers and updated badging on patrol vehicles.

Among the changes:

  • The badges worn by officers have a different look and have an ID number, unique for each officer.

  • Department vehicles have a new look, which includes the new badge. “The cost is minimal, and it looks awesome,” Robledo said.

  • The new mission statement of the department is: “It is the mission of the Pflugerville Police Department to actively engage our community by inspiring trust and respect to keep those we serve safe.”

  • The new vision statement: “Lead with a servant heart, embrace our diverse community in partnerships and become ONE!”

  • Robledo shared the Pflugerville ISD Police Department mission statement: “It is the mission of the Pflugerville ISD Police Department to actively serve our students, our staff, and our community by inspiring mutual trust and respect, and keeping those we serve safe.”

  • And the PfISD Police Department vision statement is the same as the city police department.

After the presentation, City Manager Brandon Wade and Council Member Omar Pena complimented Robledo on the direction of the department. Pena said the positive outlook of the department is "truly reflective of the leadership."
