Weiss Road will be under construction between East Pecan Street and Cele Road.[/caption]The Weiss Lane widening project is underway in Pflugerville and traffic flow will be affected between East Pecan Street and Cele Road.
In that 3-mile stretch, a northbound or southbound traffic lane will remain open during the duration of the $19.4 million project, estimated to last 21 months.
The project includes:
- Rebuilding all bridges from East Pecan Street to Kelly Lane starting with the one-lane bridge located between East Pecan and Pflugerville Parkway
- Expanding the road from two to four lanes
- Adding turn lanes at intersections
- Improving the drainage
- Constructing sidewalks and hike and bike trails
Officials from the city of Pflugerville said the project is needed to provide increased safety and to help facilitate regional growth and future development.
The project is funded by voter-approved bond funds for the city of Pflugerville and Travis County.
The city also asked motorists to obey the speed limit signs set up in construction zones.
