Hutto City Council voted to rename a portion of FM 685 to Chris Kelley Boulevard.[/caption]The change will be effective for FM 685 from Highway 79 to SH 130. The request to change the name of the road will now go to the state and Williamson County, which will work the change into their emergency response system. Grau said a public notice went out to business owners letting them know about the change.
Grau said the official United State Postal Service address will change to Chris Kelley Boulevard, and there will be an interim period where both addresses will work for businesses on the road.
Chris Kelley was a seven year veteran of the Hutto Police Department before he was killed in the line of duty on June 24. Before joining HPD he was a member of the Air Force. He was survived by a wife and two children.
