An expansion and remodeling project will close a Pflugerville Chick-fil-A for a few weeks beginning in April.

Kirk Thompson, who owns the franchise at 18617 Limestone Commercial Drive in the Stone Hill Town Center, said outdoor building work is underway, and the inside work in a couple weeks will force the restaurant to close in April and open again mid-May. Exact dates are not known, Thompson said.

The outside of the restaurant will have a second drive-thru lane added, and the inside will have an expanded kitchen and dining room face-lift.

Thompson said employees will be paid during construction, and training will take place before the restaurant reopens.

“It will help us accommodate more cars and be better for our customers,” said Thompson, who said his store has the third-largest volume in the Austin area. Thompson also said he looks forward to reopening at a busy time.

“We will receive a boost in business for the summer when [Typhoon Texas] opens,” he said.
