COMING SOON: The owners of The Rock Sports Bar will open The Alcove Cantina at 119 E. Main St., Round Rock, in early August. The restaurant and live music venue will feature a large outdoor patio, three bars and Mexican-inspired cuisine. The venue’s name is a callback to one of the former names of the building, which likely functioned as a pub before the Prohibition era, co-owner Erik Hall said. www.alcovecantina.com

CLOSING: Main Street Grill at 118 E. Main St., Round Rock, ceased operations in the summer. The restaurant had been open for 17 years.
