King fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Dr. Cynthia Graves, who announced her decision to step down in August to focus on responsibilities associated with her local dental practice. Graves served on the board for 10 years, six of which she served as secretary.
“I believe that to whom much is given, much is required,” said King in a statement. “Giving back to my community by serving again is the least I could do.”
King previously served on the PfISD board of trustees from 2001-09 and will occupy the Place 2 spot until voters select a new board member in an election slated for May.
