Andrew Hennig, owner of Titan O&P Fabrications, said he is proud to be part of an industry that truly helps people.

Titan handcrafts orthotics and prosthetics. Andrew said the company works primarily with health care practitioners, but he attends the fittings for the most challenging cases.

“It’s very rewarding seeing people back on their feet,” he said. “We get to see them running races and riding bikes. We can make products very personal. You really never make the exact same thing twice.”

Andrew said he developed an interest in orthotics and prosthetics while working as a civilian contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan. He said he worked in the fabrications industry for several years before opening Titan in Pflugerville in October 2014.

“Pflugerville is easily accessible, and it’s a great area in general,” Andrew said.

Andrew’s wife, Drew, said she supported her husband starting his own business.

“I told him that this is a great industry, and he should go for it,” Drew said.

Andrew said Titan is unique from other companies in the industry because the employees have the capability to use a variety of materials in the orthotics and prosthetics they create.

“It’s not about pinching pennies; we really want to help people out,” Andrew said.

Andrew and Drew said they would eventually like to team up with practitioners at a nonprofit to provide their services to people who otherwise could not afford prosthetics as well as animals that would benefit from prosthetics.

“We want to be that helping hand,” Drew said. “We’ve been very blessed, and we want to give back.”

Orthotics or prosthetics

Titan O&P Fabrications creates both orthotics and prosthetics. According to owner Andrew Hennig, the difference is orthotic devices are used for clients who still have their limb, but it needs support or mobility assistance. He said prosthetic devices are used for clients who have lost a limb or part of a limb.
