One-of-a-kind finds are what co-owner Victoria Bounds said she looks for when deciding what will make it onto shelves at Goodbye Hello Consignment & Resale Shop.

The 2,400-square-foot space is home to designer clothing items as well as unique accessories and a “vintage corner” with jewelry, gloves and apparel.

Bounds, an Onion Creek resident, retired from the automobile financing business and opened the store in 2006 with her sister Angela Phares.

Furniture such as bed frames, headboards, coffee tables, trunks, dressers and armoires are among the items the establishment offers for sale. Furniture such as bed frames, headboards, coffee tables, trunks, dressers and armoires are among the items the establishment offers for sale.[/caption]

After Phares’ mother-in-law died and Bounds helped to coordinate estate sales for the family, the sisters decided to open a shop together to sell the remaining vintage items and antiques. Phares is no longer involved with the business, but Bounds brought on employee Sandra O’Connor to help run the store.

Since Goodbye Hello opened, the Southwest Austin area has seen explosive growth, and the shop has gained loyal clients, Bounds said.

The consignment shop’s owners said they have seen some interesting items come through the store, including an antique parlor stove that is more than 150 years old, Bounds said. “We look forward to seeing them,” said O’Connor, who became a co-owner in 2015.

On a daily basis, consignors bring items to the store by appointment and Goodbye Hello buys items for a portion of the price at which they will be sold. Consignors must pick up items after 90 days if they do not sell, Bounds said.

Clothes must be clean, seasonally appropriate and on hangers, O’Connor said.

The store stocks boutique clothing, and products in the store have included Banana Republic and J. Crew apparel, Diane Von Furstenberg dresses and Louis Vuitton purses, Bounds said. The store offers sales at the end of every month.
