An Austin staple for food and drinks near the University of Texas campus serves its last round of patrons Nov. 24.
A line of customers at Players, located at 300 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., waited to get their last meal at the restaurant and bar before it closes at midnight.
The business opened in 1981 but will be torn down to make way for UT's new business building. Players has had strong ties to the school for years, feeding UT fans before and after games. Two UT graduates, Carlos Oliveira and and Eddie Hempe, own and operate the restaurant.
The nearby Schlotzsky's will also be torn down to make way for construction of the new facility.
