Police are searching for two Hispanic male suspects in a white SUV after a 43-year-old Southlake man was shot to death at Southlake Town Square, a police spokeswoman said Wednesday night.

Kim Leach of the Southlake Police Department said the man, whose identity had not been released as of about 9:30 p.m., was shot multiple times. He was taken to Baylor Grapevine Hospital, where he was declared dead.

Leach said the suspects fled west on FM 1709. Police Chief Stephen Mylett said police believe this was not a random shooting, but that the victim was specifically targeted.

The shooting took place in the 100 block of Southlake Town Square, roughly the area where the gazebo sits. The east side of that block was cordoned off as police investigated.

Bystanders whose cars were surrounded by police tape were waiting for officers to clear them to remove their cars, at the corner where television news crews had set up.

Elsewhere in Town Square, the upscale shopping development where Southlake's City Hall is located, business was going on as usual. Diners, shoppers and moviegoers strolled the sidewalks.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Southlake Police Department 817-748-8341 or call Tarrant County Crime-stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477).
