Ongoing projects
1. A $13.3 million joint project between Harris County Precinct 4 and Champions Municipal Utility District to upgrade Champions Drive from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a two-lane concrete pavement section is underway, said Pamela Rocchi, director of the Precinct 4 Capital Improvements Program.
Estimated timeline: Sept. 24, 2018-April 5, 2020
2. Precinct 4 is widening Gosling Road to a four-lane concrete pavement section between West Mossy Oaks and West Rayford roads. The contractor, Allgood Construction, is expected to finish the $9.4 million project by third quarter 2019, Rocchi said.

3. Hwy. 249 widening
The project to increase the number of lanes on Hwy. 249 from six to eight between Chasewood Park Drive and Gregson Road was completed in December. The project converted the inside shoulders to a fourth lane, Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson Danny Perez said.

4. Gosling Road Section 3 improvements
Precinct 4 plans to seek bid authorization in the second quarter of 2019 for the final design phase of a project to upgrade the two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete boulevard with drainage between West Rayford Road and Creekside Forest Drive, Rocchi said.

5. Gleannloch Forest Drive widening
Precinct 4 is in the design phase of a project to widen the two-lane road to four lanes between the Grand Parkway and 1,400 feet south of the Grand Parkway. The county will seek bids for the project in the first quarter of 2019. This is a joint participation project between Harris County and municipal utility districts 367 and 383.

6. Traffic signal installation on Strack Drive
Precinct 4 is in the final design phase for a project to install a traffic signal and widen Strack Drive where it intersects with Louetta Road to accommodate left-turn and right-turn lanes. Precinct 4 expects to start construction in the second quarter of 2019.

7. Holderrieth Road extension
A project to extend Holderrieth Road as a five-lane boulevard with drainage between Calvert Road and Hwy. 249 is expected to be complete in the first quarter of the year, Rocchi said. The contractor, Unitas Construction, began work on the project in January 2018, Rocchi said.
