Every January, Houstonians set ambitious health and wellness goals, but sticking to them is another story. Enter the YMCA of Greater Houston: more than a gym, it’s a place where connection, support and personal growth meet fitness.

“A membership at the Y means more than fitness,” said Lindsay Lewis, Senior Vice President of Programs, Evaluation and Membership. “When someone joins, they’re joining a community. It’s a place to belong, connect and reach your personal goals—whatever they may be.”

Kickstart your fitness goals

The start of a new year is the perfect time to focus on your health, and the YMCA of Greater Houston makes it easy to turn intentions into action. From beginners to seasoned athletes, members have access to a variety of fitness options designed to meet every goal and ability.

At the Y, you can join group exercise classes, work one-on-one with a personal trainer or take advantage of virtual wellness programs through YMCA360 that let you stay active from home. Enrichment and ForeverWell programs provide tailored opportunities for youth and seniors, ensuring everyone can find a path to staying fit.

Members are encouraged to set realistic goals, track progress and celebrate milestones along the way with supportive instructors and a welcoming community.

This January, the Y isn’t just about working out. It’s about creating a sustainable, enjoyable fitness routine while connecting with others who share your commitment to health.

Supporting goals beyond fitness

At the YMCA, members can explore a variety of programs, classes and activities that help them grow, learn and connect.

For skill development, the Y offers youth sports, swimming lessons, youth strength training, pickleball clinics and unique programs like roller skating, martial arts and cheerleading.

Social connection is fostered through young adult networking events, senior activities like pickleball, bingo and Dancing with Silver Stars and group exercise classes.

For mind and body balance, members can participate in meditation workshops, mindfulness and yoga classes, wellness programs and stress management sessions.

“We serve everyone from zero to 199 years old. No matter your age, interests or abilities, we offer programs, classes and services that help every member grow, connect, and achieve their personal goals,” Lewis said.

Membership options for every lifestyle

The YMCA of Greater Houston offers flexible membership options designed to fit every individual, family and lifestyle.
  • Impact membership: Starting at $25 per month, this option includes access to more than 10,000 virtual classes through YMCA360, youth and adult programs, wellness offerings and the chance to give back to the community.
