EastVillage hits major milestones as new restaurants, entertainment, jobs reshape Northeast Austin

EastVillage was envisioned from the start as a walkable, mixed-use district in Northeast Austin: a place where people could live, eat, work and gather within the same connected community.

Today, that vision is rapidly becoming a reality.

Since May, the development team has opened The Janis, a two-building mixed-use addition offering 422 residential units with ground-floor retail space. It joins The Vaughan, a six-building, 312-unit residential community that opened in 2024 as the first phase of EastVillage. They also debuted Center Stage, the outdoor performance venue anchored on The Village Green.

“One of the most amazing and fun parts about this project is watching it come to life,” Bridgepoint principal Brett Carr said.

A major life science expansion, bringing 1,000 high-quality jobs

One of the most significant developments is the groundbreaking of EastVillage’s 220,000-square-foot life science campus, leased to BillionToOne, a California-based company specializing in prenatal and early cancer detection blood testing.

The company plans to hire 1,000 employees as part of its expansion. This building is set to be delivered in 2027, and it is the first of a planned 1.5-million-square-foot life science campus.

The team emphasized how transformative this will be for Northeast Austin, bringing high-quality jobs and an anchor industry to the area.

A growing hub for events, music and community gathering

Beyond job growth, EastVillage has become a destination for community life.

Center Stage has hosted screenings of popular films, weekly concerts, community yoga and several large-scale events, including its grand opening celebration, the Bob Schneider 60th Birthday Bash in October and HAM Day to support local musicians.

EastVillage also features a 150-acre park, with miles of nature trails and two pickle ball courts, all open to the public.

Residents and visitors have embraced the programming.

“People gush about it when they come and see what’s happening here, so it’s really exciting,” said Gordon Reger, co-founder, principal and CEO of Reger Holdings.

First Watch became the first restaurant to open its doors at EastVillage. It has been involved in public events such as Yoga on the Green by providing coffee, juices and small bites to attendees.

“Once people get out here and see it, they love it,” Vice President of Reger Holdings Annie Atkinson said. “They love the lifestyle and seeing the events that are happening, so all of the events have been well attended.”

Swish Dental is now open as well, providing residents and community members with a convenient local option for dental care.

Many other businesses have signed with EastVillage. Their timelines are as follows:

  • Estimated to open in December: Refuel and Aburi Tora

  • Estimated to open in Jan. 2026: EastVillage Market and EastVillage Liquor

  • Estimated to open Q1 2026: Starbucks, Flame Broiler, Kilwins, Potbelly and District One

  • Estimated to open Q2 2026: Killer Burger

  • Estimated to open Q4 2026: Shake Shack and 810 Entertainment

  • Estimated to open Q2 2027: BillionToOne and Club Studio by LA Fitness

Three Hilton hotels have also signed, and they are estimated to open in 2028.

Buildings in EastVillage

A groundbreaking, immersive venue in discussion

Looking ahead, the team is energized about a 45,000-square-foot immersive venue now in late-stage discussions. The group behind it has worked with Netflix, Disney and Paramount, and after evaluating locations across the country, they specifically selected EastVillage as its preferred site.

If finalized, the immersive venue would introduce virtual and holographic performances, making it one of the most transformative additions to Northeast Austin’s cultural landscape.

“[The immersive venue] uses [3D] holograms, and they can produce a show that looks like you’re watching a live play or a band. It looks absolutely real, and people can even participate in some of their shows,” Reger said.

EastVillage street

A district rising into its full vision

With new jobs, new restaurants, active community programming and major projects underway, EastVillage is quickly becoming a vibrant district where people can live, work and gather.

Each milestone, whether a restaurant opening, a concert on the green or a building breaking ground, brings the community one step closer to the long-planned vision for this corner of Austin.
