“When we were living in a tent in Afghanistan, [we said], ‘One day we’ll start a business together,’” Austin said.
Years later, that vision became reality.
The duo opened their first Mattress Gallery Direct location in Georgetown. Since then, they’ve earned hundreds of five-star reviews. Austin and Jessy credit this success to employing the same values they lived by in uniform.
“We apply the same leadership principles we learned in the military to our business,” Austin said. “We try to hire veterans because we know that, at a fundamental level, they’re equipped to execute and understand the way that we operate.”
Now, the company has expanded to Pflugerville, bringing their personalized, health-focused approach to even more Central Texas customers.
Why Pflugerville?
Austin and Jessy had their sights set on Pflugerville from the beginning.
“Oddly enough, when we first opened in Texas, we looked at a location in Pflugerville, and we didn’t end up getting it,” Jessy said. “So we always wanted to be in Pflugerville, and ... once this space became available, we ended up going in.”
Now that their new showroom is open, they’re excited to bring a different kind of mattress-buying experience to the area: one defined by education, service and comfort.

Staying true to their roots
Even as they celebrate their Pflugerville expansion, Austin and Jessy remain dedicated to their Georgetown store. They’ll continue to oversee operations and support the customers who first helped them grow.
“We don’t ever plan on growing too large because we never want to lose that personal touch,” Austin said. “We don’t have aspirations to be the next Mattress Firm. ... We’re going to stay local, serving the people, ... and we couldn’t be more pleased with our choice to end up here in Central Texas.”
