Their vision centers on creativity, education and hands-on community connection. Now, they’re laying the foundation for deeper educational partnerships.
A new era of STEM education
As schools look for engaging ways to bring hands-on learning into the classroom, Bricks & Minifigs is stepping up.
The store’s event room, originally designed for birthday parties, is now available to educators for free science, technology, engineering and mathematics sessions. Teachers can bring their own curriculum to facilitate learning in a creative environment.
“If a teacher wants to do a LEGO robotics STEM class in there, we’re going to provide the space for it,” Jeven Stasey said.
Bricks & Minifigs will provide the LEGOs, and thanks to their large robotics collection, bulk tables and custom minifig maker kits, the store is set to be one of the most robust LEGO education resources in the region.
Free Play Days and homeschool connections
The Staseys are also finalizing details for upcoming Free Play Days. These are open hours when homeschoolers or educators can bring students in to build, explore and connect at no cost.

Jeven Stasey is a member of the DFW LEGO Users Group, or LUG, a large adult builder community that meets weekly and works on massive group projects. That same spirit of shared creativity guides the way Bricks & Minifigs interacts with families, teachers and students.
Holiday spirit, hands-on fun and a turkey named Richard
The Staseys love celebrating the season with the community.
This year, visitors stopping by might see Richard, the inflatable turkey proudly registered as part of McKinney’s Thanksgiving Turkey Tour. The store also participated in a Trunk or Treat this year, where they gave free minifig maker cards to kids, allowing them to come in and build a minifig for free. Kids also have the chance to beat the store’s Rubik’s Cube–solving LEGO robot: a popular challenge for visitors.
With holiday crowds approaching, Jeven Stasey will often be in-store, wearing a Santa hat and red blazer, and handing out candy canes.

Bricks & Minifigs is currently planning a Black Friday special centered around their popular mystery boxes. These value-packed boxes contain roughly $90 worth of LEGO pieces and are sold for $40. For the holiday, the team is exploring adding a surprise bonus inside each one, such as a polybag kit.
The deal will run Black Friday weekend, giving families and collectors a chance to pick up deeply discounted LEGO kits and bulk pieces.
Looking ahead: classes, camps and more
The Staseys are developing a lineup of new educational opportunities, from STEM workshops to summer camps.
They plan to launch signups on their website as soon as classes are ready. For now, their focus is spreading the word. Teachers, homeschool parents and student clubs are encouraged to reach out if they want to collaborate or reserve the event space.
“You can always do something new with LEGO,” Jeven Stasey said.
For Bricks & Minifigs in McKinney, that includes building a community where creativity connects people of all ages.
