Mixed-use neighborhood Goodnight Ranch broke ground on three new master-planned projects over the summer—Commons at Goodnight, Townhomes by Avi Homes and Nightingale at Goodnight.

Goodnight Ranch opened its first homes in 2017 and currently has over 100 residents, according to a news release by community spokesperson Courtney Bianchi. The neighborhood is located on a 700-acre site near Vertex Boulevard and Slaughter Lane in South Austin.

According to the release, Commons at Goodnight is an affordable housing complex under construction at 2022 E. Slaughter Lane being developed by LDG Development. The project, which could be completed by summer 2019, will be available to residents whose income does not exceed 60 percent of area median income. Residents will have access to an on-site pool, library, clubhouse and other local services.

Townhomes by Avi Homes, which will include 90 specialty townhome units at completion, is also under construction off East Slaughter Lane. Sales for two- and three-bedroom units will begin this fall.

The third project, Nightingale at Goodnight, will feature 174 units for “active seniors,” according to the release. Scheduled to open in summer 2019, the development will be bordered by green spaces and include a fitness center, library, pool and auditorium.

“We are pleased with how Goodnight Ranch is thriving and all the exciting developments under construction that will provide our residents with a variety of home options ranging in size and price,” said Myra Goepp, the vice president of Benchmark Land Development, which oversees the neighborhood.
