Tempe Neighborhoods Together will host a nonperishable food, feminine hygiene supplies and pet food drive-thru event April 2, according to a news release from the city.

The event supports Tempe Community Action Agency, the Aris Foundation, Lost Our Home and Women4Women.

“People should not have to worry about food. The impact of the coronavirus has made things worse. Heavy demands on our partner agencies have diminished supplies quickly,” said Judy Tapscott, a member of the Tempe Neighborhoods Together food drive planning committee, in a release. “Tempe neighbors can make a big impact, and this is an easy way to do it.”

Last year’s drive brought in 4,100 pounds of food and pet food and 6,000 feminine hygiene items as well as $700 in monetary donations, according to the release.
