Join the Tempe Union High School district bands and professional musicians at Music Under the Stars in Tempe this Friday, April 29.

The event begins at 7 p.m. and is free for both admission and parking at Tempe Diablo Stadium, 2200 W Alameda Dr, Tempe.

Corona del Sol Band & Steel Drum Band, Desert Vista Band & Steel Drum Band and Marcos de Niza Jazz Band and Mountain Pointe Band will play with musicians from Arizona Wind Symphony and Tempe Winds, according to a news release from the city.

“Tempe is a place where we all have the opportunity to get involved with the arts, whether it be attending performances, signing-up for art classes, or finding inspiration in our galleries and public art” said Tempe Councilmember Robin Arredondo-Savage in the release. “This is the second year Music Under the Stars will perform at the stadium and it provides yet another way for everyone to enjoy free music in a convenient location.”

Concessions stands and food trucks will be open to purchase food and drinks. Animals are not permitted in the stadium, except for certified service dogs for individuals with disabilities.

“It’s a wonderful event to enjoy music,” said TUHSD Superintendent Kevin Mendivil in the release, “I know our high school musicians appreciate this opportunity to show their skills and talents to their family, friends and neighbors.”
