The Maricopa County Department of Public Health and the Arizona Department of Health Services release daily COVID-19 case counts, both of which have climbed daily since mid-March.

Maricopa County cases account for roughly half of the state case count; Maricopa County is the largest county in the state and accounts for more than half of the state's total population.


Statewide, the total number of cases is 11,380 as of May 11.



In Maricopa County, the total number of cases is 5,915 as of May 11.


Health officials have been looking to the number of new cases per day to see if the number is getting smaller between each day. In Maricopa County and in the state, the case numbers have continued to increase daily, but the increase per day fluctuates.


The Arizona Department of Health Services is now releasing the rate of cases and rate of fatalities per 100,000 people across the state.
