The town of Gilbert is seeking community input for the design of the new Ocotillo Bridge. The bridge will extend Ocotillo Road between Greenfield and Higley Roads over Gilbert Regional Park.
In February 2022, the town opened a survey, asking the community to vote for their favorite design concepts between four options: Cascade, Palo Verde, Water and Stone and Waterfall.
After receiving about 3,500 responses, the town narrowed in on two options: Palo Verde and Desert Falls, which is a combination of the other three designs. At this stage, both design costs appear to be within 10% of each other.
On May 31, Gilbert opened a new survey for the community to vote between the two options. This survey will close June 14.
The town is looking for as much input as possible before making an official design choice. Residents can vote for their preferred design.
Bridge construction is expected to be completed in late 2025. Residents can more information on the project at its webpage.
