The town of Gilbert’s Val Vista Drive widening project is approximately 75% complete.

Traffic restrictions on the project, which runs from Appleby to Riggs roads, are one lane in each direction. Base paving has started for the cub lane north and south from Ocotillo Road to Appleby.

The $34.28 million project improves Val Vista Drive to a major arterial roadway with three lanes in each direction with a raised median.

The town anticipates the project, which started in March 2020, will be completed in August.

The town of Gilbert, Maricopa Association of Governments and developer contributions have paid for the project.
