Gilbert Road project moves toward paving on east side of street

The town is conducting a major reconstruction of deteriorated asphalt pavement on Gilbert Road from Baseline Road to north of Guadalupe Road.

Construction of the lateral water lines is moving north from Houston Road to Baseline Road. The town anticipates that will be complete by the end of April.

Roadway reconstruction started April 3 in the right lane north from Guadalupe to Baseline. The town anticipates that paving of the east side of Gilbert Road, from north of Guadalupe to just south of Baseline Road, will take place in mid-May.

Concrete crews continue work in the project area to reconstruct driveways in preparation for reconstruction of the roadway.

The project began in November and is expected to run through late August. The cost is $6.15 million funded by the town of Gilbert.
