Gilbert Road construction includes new left-turn restrictions this week

Left turns are restricted Feb. 11 at Ash Avenue on Gilbert Road as construction crews are installing pipeline on Gilbert across Ash.

The restriction will last for daylight hours.

Crews will be installing pipeline Feb. 12-14 on Houston Avenue just east and west of Gilbert Road. While those roads will remain open for travel, left turns will be restricted at Houston Avenue from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. each day.

Crews also continue work on lateral lines to the east side of Gilbert Road, between Guadalupe Road and Houston Avenue. To accommodate this work from the main pipeline to the east side of Gilbert Road in various locations, northbound Gilbert Road traffic may be shifted to the west as crews work in the curb and center northbound lanes.

Gilbert Road remains open during this work with traffic shifted away from the work zone. Two lanes in each direction will be open for travel. However, installation of lateral lines in some cases is causing an additional lane restriction to be put in place during off-peak hours only.

The construction is part of a Gilbert Road Improvements project from Guadalupe to Baseline roads. Project completion is scheduled for September.
