Gilbert will modify some intersection to improve safety on left turns

The town is modifying various intersections that were constructed in a way that caused left-run sight distance restrictions. The construction could include reconstruction of medians and conversion to protected-only left-turn signal operation.

Status: This is the second round of intersection enhancements, with more scheduled for the next two fiscal years.

Timeline: Construction is expected to start in January.

Cost: $402,000 this fiscal year; the overall project costs $1.048 million over five years.

Funding: Town.
